Who are the baseball teams to beat in this year's baseball season? customary wisdom would point to Boston, New York, Philly, St. Louis and Los Angeles. The 2010 season has brought in a number of contenders which were barely even considered as spring training approached. Satellite Tv baseball networks are absorbing viewers at this point in time, largely for the underdogs arrival up. Here are the 5 teams to watch as the playoffs draw closer this fall.
1. Ny Yankees. If you read any of the New York papers, you would guess that the Yankees were terrible. Jeter is finished, A Rod is as well and Pettitte will never return to a rotation which desperately needs him. How bad are these Yankees? They will probably cease the year with the best report in baseball and go deep into October, so apparently they are not all that bad. Watch them get to work on the Yankees Hd network this fall and see if they can steamroll once again in October.

2. Tampa Bay. The Yankees have been neck and neck with Tampa bay for most of the 2010 season, making this year's Alcs look great if it ever pans out. As of now, the two teams look like locks to continue deep into October. Garza, Shields, Davis, Niemann and Price make up one of the best rotations in the bigs. The problems ordinarily come back to the offense. Unless Evan Longoria can anchor the lineup, the Rays have big trouble.
3. Atlanta. The Braves have very quietly been compiling one of the best seasons of the year. As far as National League contenders go, they are the most balanced. They have the beginning pitching, enough offensive firepower, quality middle relief and a great closer in Billy Wagner (yes, that Billy Wagner). Watching them on satellite Tv in 2010 will remind fans of the glory days of the franchise. It's the final year for Bobby Cox as owner and the team hopes to make it count.
4. Cincinnati. Who are these Reds, the best thing to come out of Cincy in nearly 20 years? They are Brandon Phillips, Jay Bruce and Mvp candidate Joey Votto. They are the team with the solid rotation and numerous dependable relievers. They are also the team with the Gm who made numerous smart moves at the trade deadline. Never underestimate a young and hungry team (just see the 2003 Marlins). Consequent them on all the Hd baseball networks as the season heats up.
5. Texas. The Rangers were the hip popular after the July trading deadline, with Cliff Lee the biggest acquisition of all. However, numerous slips and horrendous stretches by the team have caused many analysts to doubt the Texas juggernaut. They indubitably have a shot, but it looks like the Al East teams are just too good. Watch on the Rangers Hd network to see if they can dig themselves out of a playoff funk.
